NAQP RTTY July 2021 – KB3VQC

This time for NAQP RTTY I decided to join the team at WA3EKL’s station rather than operate from home on my own. I had been at K3S on the NS Savannah that morning and so managed to get to the contest location a little after the start.

We had to take a break for 2.5 hours while a pretty decent sized thunderstorm passed by. One of the 90 foot towers took a direct strike, but as we’d disconnected everything in the shack there was no damage and we were able to continue as soon as the storm passed over.

It definitely meant our score was lower than it could have been and we missed most of the action on 10m and 15m as a result. Still, a fun contest and we got some extra bonding time as a group due tot he off-time.
